The Gaidamaki group performs their songs with elements of modern Cossack rock, dub, punk, reggae, ancient treasures of Ukrainian and Balkan music.

The group was formed at the time of the events taking place in the world and the emergence of the Ukrainian national consciousness. Gaidamaki's audience has grown from casual passers-by on the streets of Berlin to crowds numbering in the thousands at the world's largest music festivals such as Lowlands, Mundial and Przystanek Woodstock. The group's albums are released in Ukraine, England, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia by EMI, one of the four major companies, as well as WOMEX Top Label, awarded the EASTBLOCK award, Germany. Their concert activity extends from the Black Sea to the Norwegian Sea, encompassing the Baltic and Roman-Germanic countries, bringing together the minds and ideas of people from all over the world.

Gaidamaki (Ukrainian version - Gaidamaki) is a Ukrainian folk-punk-rock group.

“Gaydamaky are real students of Ukrainian culture and traditions. Through their spiritual and musical integrity, they are committed to reclaiming their culture from a corrupt, immoral mentality. "

The Gaidamaks began their careers in 1991, shortly after Ukraine declared its independence from the Soviet Union. The members of the group were also involved in political influence. The idea was that there could be significant social change through music. This gave a great purpose to the performance of such musical styles. The discovery of these musical genres later became the key to their own realization of a specifically Ukrainian musical style. Gaydamaki's hope is to build a truly Ukrainian style of popular music, which, as a source of inspiration, recalls its own heritage and traditions.
